Taco Tarts Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese .
  • 2 (1 1/4 oz) packages taco seasoning mix .
  • 3/4 lb monterey jack cheese .
  • 2 c flour .
  • 1 c butter .
  • 1 lb ground beef

Directions
  • Step #1 In a bowl, mix the butter, cream cheese, flour & 2 tsp of the taco seasoning mix.
  • Step #2 Mix with fingers until mixed.
  • Step #3 Cover up & put in the fridge for 1/2 hr.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, season ground beef with one full package of the taco seasoning mix.
  • Step #5 Add remainder of first packet to make it spicier.
  • Step #6 Cook meat according to directions on seasoning packet.
  • Step #7 Remove dough from refrigerator.
  • Step #8 Form dough into balls the size of a pecan.
  • Step #9 Flatten with hands & press into miniature muffin pans.
  • Step #10 There should be about 48 crusts.
  • Step #11 Fill each crust with about one rounded tsp of meat mixture.
  • Step #12 Bake at 350* for 10 mins.
  • Step #13 Meanwhile cut cheese slices into 1 inch squares.
  • Step #14 Remove pans from oven & top each tart with a cheese slice.
  • Step #15 Return to oven & bake for two mins.
  • Step #16 Serve hot.
