Beef, Chestnut, And Red Wine Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 300F ml beef stock .
  • 450 g beef .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 2 carrots, sliced .
  • seasoned flour .
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme .
  • 250 ml red wine .
  • 200 g chestnuts, cooked & peeled

Directions
  • Step #1 Cube the beef & dredge it in the seasoned flour.
  • Step #2 Fry the beef in oil over a high heat until browned in a dutch oven.
  • Step #3 Add the onions & keep frying until they start to brown.
  • Step #4 Add the thyme, then turn down the heat & let simmer for 1 hr, bring to the boil, wine & stock, lid on.
  • Step #5 Add the carrots & chestnuts, season & cook carefully for a further hr, lid off.
