Chicken Soup With Drop In Noodles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 (14.5 oz) cans chicken broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tsps chicken bouillon powder
  • 2 1/2 tbsps mixed vegetable flakes
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp dried tarragon
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 c frozen sliced carrots
  • 3/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tbsp shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Place chicken breasts in a large slow cooker & cover with cold water, 3/4 of the way full.
  • Step #2 Add vegetable flakes, tarragon, bay leaf, parsley, celery salt & onion.
  • Step #3 Cook on high at least 6 hrs or on low for 8 hrs.
  • Step #4 1 hr prior to serving add carrots, chicken bouillon, chicken broth & start making drop-in noodles.
  • Step #5 In a large stock pot bring 4 to 6 quarts of salted water to a boil.
  • Step #6 In a mixing bowl mix flour & cheese.
  • Step #7 In the center of flour mixture make a well & drop in eggs & milk.
  • Step #8 Mix with a fork until dough crumbles & looks like peas (if too dry add milk; if too moist add flour).
  • Step #9 Drop pea size dough pieces into boiling water & cook for twenty mins.
  • Step #10 Drain & rinse the noodles with cold water.
  • Step #11 Once noodles are finished & vegetables in soup are tender ladle soup into serving bowls, drop in noodles & serve.
