Carolyn's Apple Pudding Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c flour .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 2 tsps baking powder .
  • Batter .
  • cinnamon sugar (optional) .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1/2 c white sugar .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1 1/2 tsps shortening, melted .
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda .
  • whipped cream (optional) .
  • 4-6 apples, sliced .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • 2 tbsps water .
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Step #2 Slice apples, with or without the peel, to fill a casserole dish.
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top with brown sugar, cinnamon & water.
  • Step #4 In a medium bowl, white sugar, baking soda, mix flour, baking powder & salt.
  • Step #5 Set aside.
  • Step #6 In a small bowl or shaker, egg, mix vanilla, melted shortening & milk.
  • Step #7 Add to the flour mixture & beat until smooth, then pour over the apples.
  • Step #8 If desired, sprinkle with sugar cinnamon.
  • Step #9 Bake for 1 hr or until golden.
  • Step #10 Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream.
