Paula Deen's Baked Garlic Cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c unsalted butter .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 2 c regular grits .
  • 8 oz grated sharp white cheddar cheese .
  • 4 large eggs, beaten .
  • 16 oz cheddar cheese, cubed .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder .
  • 6 c chicken broth .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #2 Grease a 4-quart casserole dish.
  • Step #3 Bring the broth, salt, pepper, & garlic powder to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan.
  • Step #4 Stir in the grits & whisk until completely mixd.
  • Step #5 Reduce the heat to low & let simmer until the grits are thick, about 8 to 10 mins.
  • Step #6 Add the cubed Cheddar & milk & stir.
  • Step #7 Gradually stir in the the eggs & butter, stirring until all are mixd.
  • Step #8 Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with the white Cheddar & bake for 35 to 40 mins or until set.
