Vanilla Poppy Seed Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 tsp baking soda .
1/2 lb butter .
2 c flour .
1 1/2 c sugar .
1 c sour cream .
4 eggs, separated .
2 oz poppy seeds .
1 tbsp vanilla

Directions

Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step #2 Cream the butter & sugar until fluffy with an electric mixer.
Step #3 Add egg yolks & beat until mixd.
Step #4 Add sour cream & beat again.
Step #5 Mix baking soda into flour.
Step #6 Mix flour, vanilla & poppy seeds into butter mixture.
Step #7 Beat egg whites until stiff.
Step #8 Fold carefully into butter mixture.
Step #9 Pour batter into ungreased bundt pan.
Step #10 Bake about 1 hr or until tester inserted into cake comes out clean.
