Protein Fitness Energy Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c protein powder .
  • 1 c brown rice syrup .
  • 1/2 c toasted wheat germ .
  • 1 1/2 c raisins .
  • 1 c crispy rice cereal .
  • 1 1/2 c dried apricots .
  • 1 1/2 c rolled oats .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1 1/2 c peanut butter .
  • 1/4 c sesame seeds .
  • 1 c Splenda granular .
  • 1/4 c psyllium (Benefiber) .
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Spread oats, cereal & sesame seeds in 13" x 9" pan.
  • Step #3 bake, until oats are toasted, stirring every once in awhile, about 15 mins.
  • Step #4 Add raisins, protein powder, wheat germ & benefiber; Mix till mixd.
  • Step #5 Lightly coat pan with cooking spray.
  • Step #6 Combine rice syrup & splend in sauce pan over mediom heat & bring to boil.
  • Step #7 Reduce heat to low & stir in the peanut butter, vanilla & cinnamon.
  • Step #8 Pour syrup over oatmeal mixture & stir well.
  • Step #9 Spread mixture into pan, pressing into thin even layer.
  • Step #10 Chill till firm (about 4 hrs).
  • Step #11 Cut into 2"x3" bars.
