Chocolate Trifle Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 2 c heavy cream .
  • mint sprigs, for garnish .
  • 2 c self-rising flour .
  • 3 eggs .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 2 (3 1/2 oz) packages cook-and-serve chocolate pudding mix .
  • 1 lb light brown sugar .
  • 1/4 c sherry wine

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan.
  • Step #3 In a bowl, beat the eggs & butter together; add the brown sugar, then slowly add the flour & mix well.
  • Step #4 Stir in the vanilla.
  • Step #5 Spread the batter in the prepared pan & bake for 25 to 30 mins.
  • Step #6 Cool & cut into squares.
  • Step #7 OR one pan of burnt Blondies.
  • Step #8 Prepare the pudding according to the package directions.
  • Step #9 Let cool slightly.
  • Step #10 Crumble the blondies into chunks, put them back into the glass dish, & sprinkle with sherry.
  • Step #11 Spoon the pudding over the blondies.
  • Step #12 Beat the cream with the sugar just until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #13 Spoon the whipped cream onto the completely cooled trifle.
  • Step #14 Refrigerate until serving time.
