Paneer Kofta In A Tomato Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 large onion, finely sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala .
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste .
  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander .
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds .
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala .
  • 2 tbsps cilantro .
  • 1 c baby spinach .
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander .
  • salt, to taste .
  • For the tomato gravy .
  • For the kofta .
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder .
  • 1 garlic clove, finely sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin .
  • 1 large tomato, sliced .
  • 1 c panir, crumbled .
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely sliced .
  • salt, to taste .
  • 1/2 green chilies, finely sliced .
  • 1/2 onion, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 1/4 c chickpea flour .
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds .
  • vegetable oil, for deep frying .
  • 1 green chilies, finely sliced .
  • 1 lemon, juice of .
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin .
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil, plus extra .
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine all the kofta ingredients & mix with a little water to form small balls.
  • Step #2 Heat oil & deep fry the balls until golden.
  • Step #3 For the tomato gravy, heat the oil in a saucepan & add the cumin & mustard seeds.
  • Step #4 When they start to pop, add the remaining ingredients.
  • Step #5 Simmer 15 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #6 Add the paneer kofta into the tomato gravy & garnish with fresh cilantro.
