Chocolate Graham Cracker Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 3 tbsps cocoa .
  • 2 tbsps sugar .
  • 1 c whipping cream .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 2 c graham cracker crumbs .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1 c shortening .
  • 3 eggs, separated .
  • 2 tbsps baking powder .
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter .
  • Chocolate Sauce .
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Step #2 Cream butter & add sugar & egg yolks, mixing until well mixd.
  • Step #3 Add graham craker crumbs, salt, baking powder, milk, cocoa, vanilla extract; mix well.
  • Step #4 Beat egg whites until stiff & fold into mixture.
  • Step #5 Pour batter into two greased & floured 9 inch round pans.
  • Step #6 Bake 25-30 mins.
  • Step #7 Cool slightly.
  • Step #8 Turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step #9 Combine the cream & sugar in a small saucepan & heat to a boil.
  • Step #10 Pour the hot mixture over the chocolate & butter in a medium bowl.
  • Step #11 Stir until completely melted & smooth.
  • Step #12 Serve warm over cake.
