Ingredients
1 tbsp water .
sauce .
2 tsps prepared horseradish .
14-16 oz extra firm tofu (waterpacked) .
2 large eggs .
3/4 c plain yogurt .
1/2 tsp sliced fresh dill .
1 1/2-2 tbsps coarse ground honey mustard .
minced fresh garlic, to taste .
assembly .
pepper, to taste .
1/3 c breadcrumbs or matzo meal .
1-2 tbsp canola oil .
1 tsp sliced fresh dill or 1/2 tsp dried dill .
Crumb coating .
salt, to taste
Directions
Step #1 Cut the tofu into four lengthwise slices.
Step #2 In bowl whisk sauce ingredients together & set aside to let flavors mix.
Step #3 In second bowl mix coating & toss to mix.
Step #4 Spread evenly on small plate & set aside.
Step #5 In wide shallow bowl or a deep plate, mix eggs & water & beat well with fork.
Step #6 In large nonstick skillet heat oil over med heat.
Step #7 Arrange bowls of egg & coating nearby.
Step #8 Coat 1 slice tofu with egg then to crumb cover surface well then transfer to hot skillet.
Step #9 Repeat until finished.
Step #10 Cook tofu until crispy.
Step #11 about 2 mins Flip & crisp other side.
Step #12 Drizzle with sauce at table.
Step #13 NOTE: To get this tofu to crisp you MUST, I repeat MUST drain.
Step #14 To do this place the tofu on a slant board & place a heavy weight such as a plate & a cookbook on top of the tofu.
Step #15 Let it sit until the water stops running.
Step #16 You can change the texture of this by freezing the tofu.
Step #17 After freezing drain as directed.
Step #18 IF you do NOT DRAIN? It will NOT brown or get crispy.
