Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 c miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • FILLING:
  • 1 1/4 c sugar
  • 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/4 c sour cream
  • 1 1/2 tsps ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 c packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c sliced pecans
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar.
  • Step #2 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #3 Add sour cream & vanilla; mix well.
  • Step #4 Combine the flour, baking powder, nutmeg & baking soda; add to creamed mixture just until mixd (batter will be stiff).
  • Step #5 Place half of the batter in a greased 13-in.
  • Step #6 x 9-in.
  • Step #7 x 2-in.
  • Step #8 baking pan.
  • Step #9 Combine the filling/topping ingredients.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top half over batter.
  • Step #11 Spread remaining batter over top.
  • Step #12 Sprinkle top with remaining filling/topping.
  • Step #13 Bake at 325F degrees F for 40-45 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #14 Cool on wire rack.
