Cloverleaf Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (1 oz) square unsweetened chocolate, melted & cooled
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 c miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening & sugars.
  • Step #2 Beat in egg & vanilla.
  • Step #3 Combine flour, baking soda & salt; slowly add to the creamed mixture.
  • Step #4 Divide dough into thirds.
  • Step #5 Add chocolate chips to one portion, peanut butter to another & melted chocolate to the third portion.
  • Step #6 Cover & put in the fridge for 2 hrs or until firm.
  • Step #7 Roll 1/2 tspfuls of dough into balls.
  • Step #8 For each cookie, place three balls (one of each dough) with edges touching on ungreased baking sheets to form a cloverleaf.
  • Step #9 Place cookies 2 in.
  • Step #10 apart.
  • Step #11 Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #12 Cool for 1 min before removing to wire racks.
