Brie & Sausage Breakfast Casserole (treasure Trove #11) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt .
  • 1 tsp dry mustard .
  • 1 (8 oz) brie cheese, round .
  • 7 large eggs (divided according to directions) .
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage (sliced, or 1 tsp dried sage) .
  • 3 c half-and-half cream (divided according to directions) .
  • 1 c parmesan cheese (grated) .
  • 6 slices white bread .
  • 1 lb pork sausage .
  • 2 c low-fat milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Trim rind from Brie & discard.
  • Step #2 Cut cheese into small cubes & set aside.
  • Step #3 Cook sausage In a large-ish skillet over med-high heat, stirring intil it crumbles & is no longer pink.
  • Step #4 Drain well.
  • Step #5 Cut crusts from bread slices.
  • Step #6 Place crusts evenly in the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9 inch baking dish.
  • Step #7 Layer evenly with bread slices, sausage, Brie & Parmesan cheese.
  • Step #8 Whisk together 5 eggs, seasoning salt, low fat milk, 2 c Half & Half, sage, & dry mustard.
  • Step #9 Pour evenly over cheeses.
  • Step #10 Cover up & chill mixture for 8 hrs.
  • Step #11 In the morning, preheat your trusty oven to 350°F.
  • Step #12 Whisk together remaining 2 eggs & 1 c Half & Half.
  • Step #13 Pour evenly over chilled mixture.
  • Step #14 Bake for 1 hr or until casserole is set.
