Red Hot Cinnamon Pear Sundaes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c red cinnamon candies .
  • For Sundaes .
  • 1 (15 oz) can pear halves (well-drained & sliced) .
  • 1 c granulated sugar .
  • For Cinnamon Sauce .
  • 1 c water .
  • red-hot candies (for garnish) .
  • 1 1/2 pints vanilla ice cream

Directions
  • Step #1 In a med saucepan, mix sugar, water & candies.
  • Step #2 Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Step #3 Reduce heat to med & boil mixture for 10 min, stirring occ.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat & cool at least 20 min b4 using (or cool, cover & put in the fridge to store).
  • Step #5 To Assemble Sundaes: Scoop ice cream into 6 dessert dishes & spoon sliced pears over ea sundae.
  • Step #6 Spoon cinnamon sauce over ice cream & sprinkle w/more cinnamon candies.
  • Step #7 Serve as soon as possible & store any leftover sauce in refrigerator.
  • Step #8 NOTE: W/the mixd sweetness of the canned pears, cinnamon candies & ice cream used for the sundaes -- I would be inclined to reduce the sugar amt in the sauce to 1/2 c.
