Herbed Goat Cheese Appetizer Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened at about room temp .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 6 sun-dried tomatoes, dry & not packed in oil .
  • 1/2 tsp dry basil .
  • 1 dash white pepper .
  • 12 oz log of fresh mild goat cheese .
  • 1/4 c dry white wine .
  • 8 frozen puff pastry shells .
  • 1 tsp minced garlic

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak the sundried tomatoes in the wine for 30 mins or overnight for best results.
  • Step #2 Mix the goat & cream cheeses together in a bowl, mixing well.
  • Step #3 Remove the sundried tomatoes, chop them fine, & discard the wine.
  • Step #4 Add to cheese mixture.
  • Step #5 Add all other ingredients.
  • Step #6 Mix very well until evenly mixed.
  • Step #7 Cover up & put in the fridge until ready to use.
  • Step #8 To serve in a puff pastry shell, bake the shells according to the package instructions.
  • Step #9 Cool them to about room temp.
  • Step #10 Place a scoop of the herbed goat cheese mix into each pastry shell.
  • Step #11 Return the shells to the oven & bake this at 350°F for 10 mins to just warm them.
  • Step #12 Best served warm with a knife to spread the herbed cheese onto pieces of the pastry.
