Pan Seared Strip Steaks Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 shallots, thinly sliced .
  • 24 oz New York strip steaks .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 1 tsp dried thyme .
  • 1 c beef broth .
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour .
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Directions
  • Step #1 Coat steaks with vegetable oil, but shaking in plastic bag.
  • Step #2 Spice up steaks with salt & pepper.
  • Step #3 Place steaks in hot, large skillet (over medium high heat).
  • Step #4 Sear steaks, 3 mins per side, then reduce heat to medium.
  • Step #5 Cook steaks until desired doneness, about 5 mins for per side for medium.
  • Step #6 Put steaks on serving platter & keep warm.
  • Step #7 Stir flour into dripping left in pan & stir in the beef broth.
  • Step #8 Stirring continuously, cook this until slightly thickened (approx 3 mins).
  • Step #9 Stir in remaining ingrediets, then drizzle sauce over the steaks.
