Step #2 Turn the hotplate onto it's highest setting.
Step #3 Test that the oil is at the correct temperature by putting one kernel of corn into the pan - when the oil is ready, the kernel will begin to turn around in the oil & sizzle.
Step #4 Turn down the hotplate temperature by half.
Step #5 Empty the half-c of popping corn into the pan, & put on the pan's lid.
Step #6 Shake the pan back & forth on the hotplate regularly to prevent the corn from burning - especially once the sound of popping corn commences.
Step #7 When most of the popping stops, turn off the hotplate.
Step #8 Keep the pan on the hotplate though, as the remaining heat will finish off the remaining kernels.
Step #9 Keep shuffling the pan back & forth until all popping has ceased.
Step #10 When all popping has ceased, take pan off the hotplate completely.
Step #11 Take the lid off the pan, & pour popped corn into a large mixing/serving bowl.
Step #12 Sprinkle top the salt & pepper over, & use your hands to shake it through the popcorn.
Step #13 Sprinkle top the parmesan over, using your hands to evenly disperse it through the popcorn.
Step #14 Sprinkle top the paprika, smoked paprika & garlic powder over, & mix it through with your hands until evenly dispersed.
