Berry Bread Pudding With Vanilla Cream Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten .
  • 1 (16 oz) French bread, loaf cubed .
  • 2 c whipping cream .
  • 2 tbsps melted butter .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1/4 c butter, melted .
  • 2 1/4 c milk .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 1 c frozen blackberries (do not thaw) .
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 1 c frozen raspberries (do not thaw) .
  • 2 tbsps sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Arrange half of bread pieces in a lightly greased 11x7 inch baking dish.
  • Step #2 Arrange frozen berries in a single layer over bread.
  • Step #3 Top with remaining bread pieces.
  • Step #4 Whisk eggs & next 6 ingredients until smooth.
  • Step #5 Slowly pour egg mixture over bread, pressing down with a wooden spoon until bread absorbs mixture.
  • Step #6 Let stand 20 mins.
  • Step #7 Bake covered at 350° for 30 mins.
  • Step #8 Uncover, brush evenly with 2 tbsps melted butter.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top evenly with 2 tbsps sugar & bake 30 more mins or until set.
  • Step #10 Remove from oven & let this stand 30 mins.
  • Step #11 Serve with Vanilla Cream Sauce.

  • Step #13 Stir whipping cream, sugar, & flour together in a saucepan.
  • Step #14 Add butter & cook stirring constantly, over med-heat/flame until mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Step #15 Remove from heat & stir in the vanilla.
  • Step #16 Serve warm.
