Roasted Turkey Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper .
  • 1 tsp ground sage .
  • 1 (12 lb) whole turkey (about 12 lbs) .
  • 2 c water .
  • 3/4 c olive oil .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps garlic powder .
  • 2 tsps dried basil

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325°F Clean turkey & place this into a roasting pan with a lid.
  • Step #2 In a small bowl, ground sage, dried basil, mix olive oil, garlic powder, salt & black pepper.
  • Step #3 Using a basting brush apply the mixture to the outside of the uncooked turkey.
  • Step #4 Pour water into the bottom of the pan & cover.
  • Step #5 Bake for 3 to 3.
  • Step #6 5 hrs or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the thigh measures 180°F Remove bird from oven & let this stand for about 30 mins before carving.
