Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step #2 In a bowl beat shortening and/or butter on medium to high for 30 seconds.
Step #3 Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, & salt;beat until mixd.
Step #4 Beat in eggs & vanilla until mixd.
Step #5 Beat in flour.
Step #6 Stir in chocolate pieces.
Step #7 Drop dough by rounded tsps 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step #8 Bake cookies no more than eight mins.
Step #9 Cool on wire rack.
