Cream Of Fresh Green Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp dried savory, crushed .
  • 1 1/2 c chicken broth .
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 2 tbsps flour .
  • 1 1/2 c fresh green beans, cut in pieces .
  • 1/2 c onions, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 In a saucepan, mix the chicken broth, sliced onion, green beans & savory.
  • Step #2 Bring mixture to boiling.
  • Step #3 Reduce heat; cover & let simmer 20 to 30 mins or until vegetable is tender.
  • Step #4 Place half of the vegetable mixture in a mixer or food processor/blender.
  • Step #5 Cover up & mix 30 to 60 seconds or till smooth.
  • Step #6 Take care when mixing hot liquids.
  • Step #7 Pour into bowl.
  • Step #8 Repeat with remaining vegetable mixture; set all aside.
  • Step #9 In the same saucepan, melt the butter or margarine.
  • Step #10 Whisk in flour, salt & pepper.
  • Step #11 Add the milk all at once, whisking till smooth.
  • Step #12 Cook & stir till mixture is thickened & bubbly.
  • Step #13 Stir in the mixed vegetable mixture.
  • Step #14 Cook & stir till soup is heated through.
  • Step #15 Spice up with salt & pepper to taste.
