Step #1 Cream the sugar & shortening together.
Step #2 Add two beaten eggs.
Step #3 Blend well.
Step #4 Add the ginger, cinnamon & salt.
Step #5 Blend.
Step #6 Add the molasses.
Step #7 Blend well.
Step #8 Dissolve the 2 tsps of baking soda in 1/2 c of hot water.
Step #9 When it is just warm add it to the other preparation.
Step #10 Smooth it all.
Step #11 Add the flour incrementally until the mixture is right for making drop cookies.
Step #12 Drop from a tsp onto a greased cookie sheet.
Step #13 One tsp of cookie mix makes a 3" cookie.
Step #14 Bake 8 - 9 mins at 350°F.
Step #15 Leave cookies on the pan a little bit before removing.
Step #16 Rest the dough in the refrigerator between batches.
