Granny's Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) can sliced mushrooms, save liquid (can also use fresh mushrooms) .
  • 1 medium green pepper, sliced .
  • 1 (10 oz) can water .
  • 1 dash salt .
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced .
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup .
  • 4 tbsps butter .
  • 2 (10 oz) cans cream of chicken soup .
  • 1 (8 oz) carton sour cream .
  • 4 lbs beef, stroganoff meat cut into long chunks .
  • 1 dash pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown meat in large sauce pan with 3 Tab.
  • Step #2 butter.
  • Step #3 Add a dash of salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 (may have to do two batches to fit in pan).
  • Step #5 In small pan with 1 Tab.
  • Step #6 butter, saute onion & green pepper till tender.
  • Step #7 In large dutch, add everything but sour cream.
  • Step #8 Simmer slowly & cover till tender about 1 hr.
  • Step #9 Right before serving time, add sour cream; warm slowly don't boil.
  • Step #10 Serve with steamed rice.
