Creole Black Eyed Peas And Rice Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp Creole seasoning
  • 2 small onions, sliced
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 (15.5 oz) cans black-eyed peas, drained
  • 1 c long grain white rice
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 c sliced green bell pepper
  • 2 c water
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Crumble the ground beef into a deep skillet or large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Add the onions & green pepper.
  • Step #3 Cook & stir until beef is evenly browned.
  • Step #4 Drain the grease.
  • Step #5 Add the rice & water to the pan, pepper, & season this with Creole seasoning, & garlic powder.
  • Step #6 Bring to a boil, then cover & reduce heat to low.
  • Step #7 Simmer for 30 mins, until the water is absorbed.
  • Step #8 About halfway through cooking the rice, stir in the the black-eyed peas.
