Step #2 Combine brown sugar, Butter Flavor Crisco Shortening, milk & vanilla in large bowl.
Step #3 Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well mixed.
Step #4 Beat egg into creamed mixture.
Step #5 Combine flour, salt & baking soda.
Step #6 Mix into creamed mixture until just mixed.
Step #7 Stir in chocolate chips.
Step #8 Drop rounded measuring tbspfuls of dough 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
Step #9 Bake one baking sheet at a time at 375ºF for 8 to 10 mins for chewy cookies (they will look light & moist), or 11 to 13 mins for crisp cookies.
Step #10 DO NOT OVERBAKE.
Step #11 Cool 2 mins on baking sheet on a cooling rack; remove cookies to rack to cool completely.
