Bodacious Porterhouse Steaks With Sexy Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard .
  • vegetable oil .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1/2 c ketchup .
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt .
  • kosher salt .
  • 2 (2 lb) porterhouse steaks (each about 1 1/2 inches thick) .
  • 1/2 c dry red wine .
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin .
  • Steaks .
  • 1/4 c dark molasses .
  • Sauce .
  • 2 tbsps red wine vinegar .
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder .
  • fresh ground black pepper .
  • 1/2 tsp celery seeds

Directions
  • Step #1 To make the sauce: in a saucepan, mix all the sauce ingredients & ½ c water; mix well.
  • Step #2 Bring to a simmer over med-heat/flame; cook uncovered, stirring every once in awhile, until about 2/3 c remains (about 30 mins); let cool to about room temp.
  • Step #3 Lightly brush both sides of the steaks with vegetable oil & season generously with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Grill the first side of the steaks directly over high heat for 6 mins; turn the steaks over & cook the second side for 5 mins; continue to cook the steaks to desired doneness.
  • Step #5 Remove steaks from the grill; season again with salt & pepper; let rest for 3-5 mins.
  • Step #6 You can serve the steaks whole or cut the siroloin strips & tenderloins away from the bones, then cut the meat into ¼-inch thick slices.
  • Step #7 Serve warm with barbecue sauce.
