Holiday Chocolate Torte Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c powdered sugar .
  • 2 (3 1/2 oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix .
  • 1 1/2 c flour or vanilla wafer crumbs .
  • grated chocolate, to garnish .
  • 2 c Cool Whip (remainder of 8 oz pkg) .
  • 1/2 tbsp powdered instant coffee (heaping) .
  • 2 1/2 c milk .
  • 1 c Cool Whip, softened .
  • Crust .
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese .
  • 2nd Layer .
  • 1st Layer .
  • 1 c pecans, ground .
  • 3/4 c butter or margarine, melted .
  • sliced almonds or hazelnuts, to garnish .
  • 3rd Layer

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F & grease a 9x13x2-inch pan.
  • Step #2 In small bowl, mix crust ingredients, & press into pan.
  • Step #3 Bake until lightly browned (15 mins).
  • Step #4 Cool completely.
  • Step #5 Beat ingredients for 1st layer until creamy, & spread over cooled crust.
  • Step #6 Combine ingredients for 2nd layer & mix thoroughly.
  • Step #7 Spread over cream cheese layer.
  • Step #8 Cover up with remaining cool whip.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with almonds & chocolate to garnish, & put in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • Step #10 To serve, cut torte into bars.
