Bread Rolls Filled With Wild Mushro
Ingredients
450 g plain flour, plus extra .
plain flour, for dusting .
275 ml milk, hand-hot .
1 egg, lightly beaten .
110 g butter, at about room temp .
1 tsp sugar .
1 1/2 tsps salt .
2 tsps dried yeast
Directions
Step #1 Sift the flour, salt, dried yeast & sugar into a bowl.
Step #2 Make a well in the centre & pour in the milk.
Step #3 Mix in & knead to form a smooth dough, then turn the dough onto a work surface & knead for about 10 mins.
Step #4 Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover with clingfilm & leave it to rise in a warm place for 1-1 1/2 hrs until doubled in size.
Step #5 Punch the dough down in the bowl to knock the air out, & then slowly work in the softened butter a little at a time.
Step #6 The dough will now be very sticky to work with, but just continue working on until the butter is mixed in evenly.
Step #7 Turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface & shape the dough into a ball & cut the ball into 16 bits.
Step #8 Roll each ball out into a long sausage-shaped roll, & then tie each roll this into a knot.
Step #9 Place each roll onto a greased baking tray & brush the top of the rolls with the beaten egg.
Step #10 Loosely cover the baking sheet with a clingfilm & leave it to rise again in a warm place for about half an hr.
Step #11 Meanwhile, pre-heat the oven to gas mark 5/375°F/190°C.
Step #12 Bake in the centre shelf of the oven for about 20 mins or until golden brown.
Step #13 Remove from oven & transfer on to a wire rack to cool.
