Gooey Caramel Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps light corn syrup .
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar .
  • for the caramel .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 10 tbsps cold butter .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • for the base .
  • 1 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 c sweetened condensed milk .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1/4 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 °F.
  • Step #2 Cover up an 8×8 pan with foil wrap.
  • Step #3 Grease foil wrap.
  • Step #4 In a bowl, mix flour & sugar.
  • Step #5 Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Step #6 Press into a greased 9-in.
  • Step #7 square baking pan.
  • Step #8 Bake for 18-20 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #9 Meanwhile, mix the filling ingredients in a saucepan.
  • Step #10 Bring to a boil over med-heat/flame; boil & stir for 5 mins.
  • Step #11 Pour over warm crust.
  • Step #12 Let cool completely (can put in the refrigerator to speed up process) then cut into squares.
