Ingredients
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c white sugar
2 c semisweet chocolate chips
1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 c butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c brown sugar
2 1/2 c rolled oats
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step #2 Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil.
Step #3 In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar & white sugar until smooth.
Step #4 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the the vanilla.
Step #5 Combine the flour, baking soda, salt & cinnamon; slowly mix into the creamed mixture.
Step #6 Stir in the oats.
Step #7 Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Step #8 Bake for 25 to 30 mins in the preheated oven, until firm & lightly toasted at the edges.
Step #9 Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring frequently until smooth.
Step #10 Spread over bars.
Step #11 Cool completely before cutting into squares.
