Laccha Paratha Recipe

Ingredients
  • 200 ml water .
  • 1 egg .
  • 10 g salt .
  • 5 g baking powder .
  • 25 ml oil .
  • 50 ml milk .
  • 1 g bicarbonate of soda .
  • 10 g sugar .
  • 500 g flour .
  • 50 g butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Sieve flour with salt,soda bi-carb,baking powder in a bowl.
  • Step #2 break egg in a bowl add sugar & milk & whisk add water.
  • Step #3 Make a bay in the sieved flour; add egg mixture & mix.
  • Step #4 When fully mixed, knead to a soft dough; leave for 10 mins.
  • Step #5 Then add oil & knead thoroughly.
  • Step #6 Leave covered for at least 2 hrs.
  • Step #7 Divide dough into 8 portions making balls.
  • Step #8 Place on dusted tray & leave for 30 mins.
  • Step #9 Flatten each with rolling pin into a round disc 8-inches in diameter.
  • Step #10 Apply butter over surface & dust with flour.
  • Step #11 Hold from ends & gather to make many folds & roll like pinwheel.
  • Step #12 Keep aside for 10 mins.
  • Step #13 Roll each pinwheel with rolling pin to 8 inch disc.
  • Step #14 Place pratha in preheated oven on a tray & bake for 10 mins at 250 centigrade or in tandoor till caramelised.
  • Step #15 Remove serve hot.
  • Step #16 Enjoy.
