Pan-fried Shrimp With Lemon And Ouzo Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsps extra-virgin olive oil .
  • 1/2 c ouzo .
  • 1 1/2 lbs large shrimp, shelled .
  • salt .
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper .
  • 1/4 c fresh lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large, mix ouzo, shallow dish, lemon juice & cayenne.
  • Step #2 Add the shrimp & toss to coat thoroughly.
  • Step #3 Cover up & put in the fridge for at least 1 1/2 hrs or for up to 2 hrs.
  • Step #4 Dry the shrimp.
  • Step #5 In a large skillet, heat 1 1/2 tbsps of the oil until shimmering.
  • Step #6 Add half of the shrimp & cook over high heat, stirring, until golden & just cooked (2 mins).
  • Step #7 Spice up with salt & transfer to a platter.
  • Step #8 Repeat with the remaining oil & shrimp.
  • Step #9 Serve hot or warm.
