Spiced Apples With Vanilla Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 medium apples, cored .
  • 1/4 c Splenda granular .
  • 2 tbsps lemon juice .
  • 1/4 c water .
  • 2 tbsps fat-free sugar-free instant vanilla pudding mix .
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger .
  • 3/4 c skim milk .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step #2 Peel a 1/2 inch horizontal strip around apples to help release juices during baking.
  • Step #3 Place apples in a 9x9 baking dish.
  • Step #4 Combine cinnamon, ginger & Splenda in a bowl.
  • Step #5 Place 1 Tbs of cinnamon mixture in the cored-out center of each apple.
  • Step #6 Sprinkle top remaining mixture over the top of the apples.
  • Step #7 Combine water & lemon juice in a c.
  • Step #8 Pour liquid around apples.
  • Step #9 Bake until apples are soft when pierced with a knife, about 15-20 mins; remove this from oven & let cool.
  • Step #10 Pour pudding mix into a medium bowl; whisk in milk to make a fairly thin sauce.
  • Step #11 Place one apple in a dish, & drizzle with sauce.
  • Step #12 Serving size: 1 apple with 1/4 c sauce.
