Beefy White Rice & Parmesan Cheese Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 c water .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 medium onion, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg .
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder .
  • 1 1/4 ground sirloin .
  • 1 c long-grain white rice .
  • 1/2 c parmesan cheese .
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper .
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper .
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz) can cambells beef consomme

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt butter over medium high heat, add sliced onion & stir until onion is soft, about 3-4 mins.
  • Step #2 Add sirlion & stir until mostly cooked through, about 7-8 mins.
  • Step #3 Do not drain, if using sirlion there will not be much fat.
  • Step #4 Add one can of beef consumme, then fill the can with water & add to pan.
  • Step #5 The water may froth in the can, so I added a little extra water to compensate.
  • Step #6 Stir through & add the rice, garlic powder, cayanne pepper, nutmeg, salt & black pepper.
  • Step #7 Cover up & let simmer for 25 mins.
  • Step #8 Add parmesan cheese & stir through before serving.
