Chicken With Creamy Port Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 chicken stock cube, crumbled .
  • salt & pepper, to taste .
  • 8 chicken breast fillets .
  • 1 c water .
  • 2/3 c dry white wine or chicken stock .
  • plain flour, to coat .
  • 1/3 c port wine or grape juice .
  • 30 g butter .
  • 1/3 c thickened cream

Directions
  • Step #1 Toss chicken in seasoned flour, shake away excess flour.
  • Step #2 Heat butter in pan, add chicken, cook on both sides until lightly browned.
  • Step #3 Drain excess butter from pan, bring to the boil, add water, port & stock cube, wine, simmer for about 10 mins or until chicken is cooked through.
  • Step #4 Remove chicken from pan, keep warm.
  • Step #5 Bring sauce to the boil, uncovered , simmer, for about 5 mins or until sauce is reduced by half.
  • Step #6 Stir in cream, return chicken to pan, cook this until chicken is heated through.
