Chunky Chocolate-walnut Coffee Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 eggs .
  • 1 1/4 c sugar .
  • 3/4 c butter, softened .
  • Cake .
  • 2/3 c sugar .
  • 1 1/2 c sour cream .
  • 10 oz semisweet chocolate, coarsely sliced .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 2 1/2 c flour .
  • 1 tsp black walnut extract .
  • 3/4 c sliced walnuts .
  • Topping .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 2 1/2 tsps baking powder .
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 10-inch tube pan.
  • Step #2 In small bowl, mix topping ingredients; set aside.
  • Step #3 Beat butter & sugar in large bowl until light & fluffy.
  • Step #4 Beat in eggs, sour cream & vanilla until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt in bowl.
  • Step #6 On lowish speed add flour mixture to batter, beating until smooth.
  • Step #7 Spoon 1/3 (about 2 c) of the batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  • Step #8 Sprinkle top with 1/3 of the topping (scant 1 c).
  • Step #9 Repeat layering 2 more times.
  • Step #10 Bake 55 to 65 mins or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #11 Cool in pan on wire rack for 20 mins.
  • Step #12 Remove from pan.
