Ingredients
3 eggs .
1 1/4 c sugar .
3/4 c butter, softened .
Cake .
2/3 c sugar .
1 1/2 c sour cream .
10 oz semisweet chocolate, coarsely sliced .
1 tsp baking soda .
2 1/2 c flour .
1 tsp black walnut extract .
3/4 c sliced walnuts .
Topping .
1 tsp vanilla .
2 1/2 tsps baking powder .
1/2 tsp salt
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 10-inch tube pan.
Step #2 In small bowl, mix topping ingredients; set aside.
Step #3 Beat butter & sugar in large bowl until light & fluffy.
Step #4 Beat in eggs, sour cream & vanilla until well mixed.
Step #5 Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt in bowl.
Step #6 On lowish speed add flour mixture to batter, beating until smooth.
Step #7 Spoon 1/3 (about 2 c) of the batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Step #8 Sprinkle top with 1/3 of the topping (scant 1 c).
Step #9 Repeat layering 2 more times.
Step #10 Bake 55 to 65 mins or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step #11 Cool in pan on wire rack for 20 mins.
Step #12 Remove from pan.
