Boneless Tennessee Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 c flour .
  • 2 tbsps margarine .
  • 4 tbsps lemon juice .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 2 tsps mustard .
  • 1 1/2 c ketchup .
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1 c water .
  • 1 large onion, sliced .
  • 4 tbsps light brown sugar .
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

Directions
  • Step #1 Spice up chicken with salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Dredge with flour.
  • Step #3 Brown in a small amount of fat in skillet.
  • Step #4 Place in a greased baking dish (1 1/2 to 2-quart) or a 13 x 9-inch pan works nicely.
  • Step #5 Cook the onion in margarine in a saucepan until brown.
  • Step #6 Add remaining ingredients & let simmer for 15 mins.
  • Step #7 Pour over chicken.
  • Step #8 Bake in 400° oven for 40 mins.
  • Step #9 This can be made early in the day & put in the fridged until time to bake, or it can be cooked in a slow cooker (aka crockpot) all day.
