- 1 c long grain rice .
- 3/4 c peas & carrots (tinned) .
- 1/2 tsp powdered saffron .
- 1 pinch msg, powder (optional) .
- 2 c water .
- 1/4 c sweet peppers (finely sliced) .
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
- 1/4 c carrots (finely sliced) .
- 1 1/2 tbsps celery (finely sliced) .
- 1 tsp sesame oil .
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
Directions
- Step #1 Cook the rice with the saffron & two c water according to directions on the package or box.
- Step #2 Bring to a boil over high heat & let boil for one min.
- Step #3 Cover up saucepan & continue to cook this until all the water has been absorbed & the rice is cooked (15 - 20 mins.
- Step #4 ) Remove from heat.
- Step #5 In a large & deep frying pan or wok, heat oil & sauté carrots, onions & sweet pepper until the onions are translucent.
- Step #6 Add peas & carrots cook a min or two.
- Step #7 Add the oyster sauce, msg, & rice to the vegetables & mix well.
- Step #8 Turn off the heat & stir in the the sliced celery.
