Mushroom And Wine Sauce For Steaks Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 12 shallots .
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper .
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans beef consomme .
  • 1/4 c worcestershire sauce .
  • 3/4 c dry red wine .
  • 1/4 c flour .
  • 1 lb cremini mushrooms, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 In a skillet or large saucepan melt butter over medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Add shallots & garlic.
  • Step #3 Cook for 2 mins, stirring often.
  • Step #4 Add Mushrooms & cook for 5 mins, stirring often.
  • Step #5 While stirring add flour & cook for 1-2 mins.
  • Step #6 Slowly add the consomme, red wine & Worcestershire.
  • Step #7 Cook for 5 mins if you prefer a thinner sauce, up to 10 for a thicker sauce.
  • Step #8 Spice up with pepper.
  • Step #9 Serve in a gravy bowl.
