Cinnamon Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 tbsps ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 3/4 c packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  •  
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift together the flour, baking soda, & salt; set aside.
  • Step #2 In a medium bowl, cream butter with 1/4 c white sugar & brown sugar.
  • Step #3 Mix in egg & vanilla.
  • Step #4 Add the sifted dry ingredients, & mix until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Divide dough into 3 equal portions.
  • Step #6 Roll into logs 2 inches in diameter, wrap, & put in the fridge for 3 to 4 hrs.
  • Step #7 These logs can be frozen for up to 6 weeks.
  • Step #8 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #9 Mix 1/2 c sugar & cinnamon on a flat plate or a piece of wax paper.
  • Step #10 Unwrap dough logs, & roll in the cinnamon mixture.
  • Step #11 Cut into 1/4 inch slices, & place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Step #12 Bake 12 to 15 mins in the preheated oven.
  • Step #13 Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
  • Step #14 Baked cookies can be kept in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
