Step #1 Place eggs in saucepan & cover with hot water (from the tap is fine).
Step #2 Bring to the boil & boil for 3 mins.
Step #3 Drain eggs & place this in a bowl of cold water to cool.
Step #4 Peel eggs & cut into quarters.
Step #5 Melt butter in frying pan & add breadcrumbs & garlic.
Step #6 Cook over med-heat/flame until crisp & golden.
Step #7 Snap asparagus spears in half (by holding by each end) & discard hard ends.
Step #8 Brush asparagus with oil & cook asparagus & ham on barbeque over med-heat/flame, turning frequently, until asparagus is tender & ham is crispy.
Step #9 Place asparagus on serving plate & top this with eggs, ham & garlic breadcrumbs.
Step #10 Sprinkle top with chives & salt & ground black pepper if using.
