Spinach Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen sliced spinach, thawed .
  • 1 c mayonnaise .
  • 1 large round loaf pumpernickel bread or similar bread .
  • 1 (4 oz) package Knorr vegetable soup mix .
  • 1 (5 oz) package sargento grated parmesan cheese .
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine spread .
  • 2 celery ribs, finely sliced .
  • 1 quarter red bell pepper, finely sliced (optional) .
  • 2 c sour cream .
  • 4 green onions, finely sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Squeeze spinach thoroughly until dry.
  • Step #2 In a large bowl, sour cream, cheese, celery, mayonnaise, mix together spinach, soup mix, green onions & red pepper Cover up tightly & put in the fridge overnight or at least 4 hrs.
  • Step #3 Cut slice from top of round loaf of bread.
  • Step #4 Hollow out loaf leaving outside shell to hold dip Cut bread removed from loaf into bite size pieces.
  • Step #5 Butter inside of bread shell or line shell with plastic wrap if some dip is expected to be left over.
  • Step #6 Fill loaf with dip & place on platter surrounded with bread pieces, crackers & raw vegetables.
