Creamed Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 c crushed cornflakes
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 c shredded sharp Cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 1 tsp instant minced onion
  • 4 c French-style green beans, cooked & drained
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsps butter or margarine, divided

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small saucepan, melt 1 tbsp butter; stir in the cornflakes & set aside.
  • Step #2 Melt remaining butter in a large saucepan.
  • Step #3 Stir in flour, salt, pepper, onion & sugar; heat & stir until bubbly.
  • Step #4 Reduce heat; add the sour cream & stir until smooth.
  • Step #5 Cook & stir over low heat/flame for 2 mins (do not boil).
  • Step #6 Fold in the beans.
  • Step #7 Spread into a greased 1-1/2-qt.
  • Step #8 baking dish.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top cheese evenly over the top.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with cornflake mixture.
  • Step #11 Bake, uncovered, at 400F degrees F for 20 mins or until heated through.
