Steak And Kidney Pie With Guinness Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c worcestershire sauce .
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes .
  • 1 pint Guinness stout .
  • 1 c finely sliced beef kidneys (just the red parts) .
  • 3 bay leaves .
  • 1/3 c cornstarch .
  • 1 tbsp thyme .
  • 2 large onions, sliced .
  • 2 sheets puff pastry .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 2 1/2 lbs beef, cubed (most cuts work well) .
  • 3 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 In a pressure cooker, brown the beef, kidney & onion in the olive oil.
  • Step #2 Add the Guinness, worcestershire, thyme, boullion, bay leaves, salt & pepper.
  • Step #3 Cover up & cook for approximately 15 - 20 min from the time the cooker starts to whistle.
  • Step #4 Once it's safe to remove cover, do so.
  • Step #5 Dissolve cornstarch in the water & then add mixture to the beef, bringing back to a boil to thicken.
  • Step #6 Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  • Step #7 Pour beef into a large baking dish & top this with puff pastry.
  • Step #8 Bake till golden, approximately 40 min.
