Candied Pecans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1 lb pecan halves .
  • 1 dash salt .
  • 1 dash cinnamon or nutmeg .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 2 stiffly beaten egg whites

Directions
  • Step #1 Toast pecans @ 225º for 15 mins.
  • Step #2 Combine salt & sugar & spice into egg whites which have been stiffly beaten.
  • Step #3 Fold in pecans & coat well.
  • Step #4 Melt butter in 9 by 13 pan & spread in pecans.
  • Step #5 Mix pecans in butter until coated.
  • Step #6 Bake @ 325º for 30 mins.
  • Step #7 Turn pecans in butter every 10 mins until butter is gone.
