Pasta Puttanesca Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tbsps capers (rinsed) .
  • 1 lime, juice of .
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 tsp garlic powder .
  • 6-8 leaves fresh sweet basil, ripped .
  • 1 (16 oz) can whole canned tomatoes .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c olives, sliced .
  • 1 3/4 c water .
  • 2 tsps red pepper flakes .
  • 1 tbsp oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Sautee capers, half of the basil leaves, garlic powder, salt, sliced garlic, pepper flakes, & oil in the pot.
  • Step #2 Squish or roughly chop tomatoes, then add tomatoes (with juice) & water to the pot, stir.
  • Step #3 Add lime juice, capers, & olives to the sauce.
  • Step #4 Let simmer covered for 20-40 min (add more water if needed).
  • Step #5 Add extra salt & pepper flakes to taste.
  • Step #6 Add the rest of the basil leaves right before serving.
