Pesto Crescent Twists With Feta Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps olive oil .
  • 2 tbsps walnuts, finely sliced .
  • 1 tsp pesto sauce .
  • 2 (235 g) cans crescent roll dough (8 crescents a can) .
  • 1/2 c pesto sauce .
  • 1/4 c sour cream (you can use low fat) .
  • 1 c feta cheese, crumbled (you can use low fat) .
  • 125 g cream cheese (3 oz)

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small bowl stir this together 1 Cup pesto & Walnuts.
  • Step #2 Unroll one can of dough on cutting board.
  • Step #3 (on wax paper).
  • Step #4 Firmly press perforations to seal into one sheet.
  • Step #5 Press or roll this into 13 x 7 inch rectangle.
  • Step #6 Spread pesto mixture over surface.
  • Step #7 Unroll other can of dough on wax paper.
  • Step #8 Firmly press perforations to seal into one sheet.
  • Step #9 Press or roll this into 13 x 7 inch rectangle.
  • Step #10 Place over dough that is spread with Pesto mixture.
  • Step #11 Cut filled dough in half from top to bottom to make two 7 x 6 1/2 inch pieces.
  • Step #12 With sharp knife cut each half top to bottom into 8 strips.
  • Step #13 Twist each strip tightly & place on greased baking sheets, spacing well apart.
  • Step #14 Bake one sheet at a time in centre of preheated 375°F oven for 10 - 14 mins or until golden.
  • Step #15 In bowl, mix feta & sour cream until smooth, put in serving dish.
  • Step #16 In small bowl mix 2 tsp oil & 1 tsp pesto.
  • Step #17 Drizzle over Feta mixture, draw tip of knife through to create a marbled effect.
  • Step #18 Serve twists warm with Feta spread.
