Old-fashioned Peach Butter - Crock Pot Recipe

Ingredients
  • 14 c peaches, sliced & peeled .
  • 3/4 tsp ground cloves .
  • 1/2 c quick-cooking tapioca .
  • 4 1/2 tsps lemon juice .
  • 1 1/2 tsps ground cinnamon .
  • 2 1/2 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, lemon juice, sugar, mix the peaches, cinnamon & cloves; mix well.
  • Step #2 Transfer to a 5 qt slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #3 Cover up & cook on low for 8 to 10 hrs or until peaches are very soft, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #4 Stir in tapioca.
  • Step #5 Cook, uncovered, on high for 1 hr or until thickened.
  • Step #6 Pour into freezer containers; cool to room temp, about 1 hr.
  • Step #7 Refrigerate or freeze.
