Giant-sized Popovers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c flour .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 4 eggs .
  • 1 tsp sugar .
  • butter .
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400F degrees F.
  • Step #2 Beat eggs in a medium sized bowl until light & fluffy.
  • Step #3 Add milk & 1 TBSP butter, mixing well.
  • Step #4 Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture, & beat until smooth.
  • Step #5 Butter 6 custard c generously.
  • Step #6 Set the c in a jellyroll pan, & place this in a 400F F degree oven 5 mins before filling.
  • Step #7 Remove from oven.
  • Step #8 Spoon batter evenly into the c.
  • Step #9 Bake at 400F F for 25 mins; reduce the temperature to 350 F & bake an extra 20-25 mins.
  • Step #10 Turn off heat, & allow to stand 5 - 10 mins.
  • Step #11 (They should be extra large, empty crusty shells.
  • Step #12 ).
  • Step #13 Serve hot with butter, jam or jelly.
